Projects For Living Artists called EOL "charming, humorous, emotional." For this show, I won Best Director and my company won Best Play at the Secret Theatre 2024 Festival.

EOL (full show)

A new short play by Sio Hornbuckle, directed by Maggie Dunn. EOL investigates the elderly's relationship with aging through the lens of a grandmother puppet, a very human virtual assistant, and a granddaughter who is trying her best.

Maggie Dunn won Best Director at the festival

In addition to the themes of aging, I wanted to investigate society's closer relationship with AI vs our elderly family members, which I accomplished by humanizing the virtual assistant and dehumanizing the grandmother character (casting her as a puppet).
